Risk Assessment Categories

There are three risk assessment categories for confined spaces as classified within the National Occupational Standards and City & Guilds 6150 scheme.

  • Low Risk Working
  • Medium Risk Working
  • High Risk Working

The City & Guilds 6150 Working in Confined Spaces is underpinned by National Occupational Standards (NOS). Its central principle, advocates a risk-based approach to entering and exiting confined spaces.

It is the new national standard for working in confined spaces in the water industry and is accredited on the national framework. This means that any candidate successful in their respective 6150 qualification should be deemed competent to operate nationally at that confined space risk level/job role in the water industry.

As a national standard this qualification can be used within other industries.

Expedient Training Services currently offers eight courses and can be accredited through City & Guilds or In House
